Love IS Eternal - Stories from the Other Side,
By
This review is from: The Spirit Whisperer: Chronicles of a Medium (Paperback)
A 2010 book by John Holland, a respected medium and Hay House author, this book is subtitled "Chronicles of a Medium" and so it is. This 233 page book covers many of John's past experiences with those from "the other side". If you are someone who WANTS to BELIEVE, or already does believe, I think you will find this book very enjoyable and rewarding. If you dabble in the psychic arts, I think you will also find this book informative, encouraging, and one which provides confirmation for some of the experiences you may have already had.In the book, he mentions how he was "different" growing up, how he later traveled from Los Angeles to England to study at the famous Arthur Findlay College of spiritualism, psychic sciences, and mediumship, and referring to this place as his "Spirit Boot Camp". During the 2 years he studied in England (in the 1990s), John experienced many paranormal wonders, such as Transfiguration Mediumship and Psychic Art, as he learned how to develop and control his own psychic skills. John tells you about his extraordinary experiences, including the pictures he received from psychic artist Coral Polge of a relative he had never seen before. The book is said to chronicle the last 7 years of John's life (meaning, I assume, the last 7 years of readings--because it also goes back to his 1990s studies). (Transfiguration Mediumship is a very rare form of mediumship where a veil of ectoplasm forms in front of the medium's face, then the ectoplasm molds itself into the features of the spirit who is coming through. The spirit's features appear on the face of the medium.) (Psychic Art is where the medium is able to see and draw the spirit who is coming through. Some of these mediums have no artistic ability until the link with the spirit world has been established.) This book is chocked full of very beautiful stories of spirits from the "other side" bringing closure and comfort, as well as encouragement, to those remaining here. Many find peace after hearing their passed-on loved one tell them that they didn't suffer, that it was their time to go, and that they are still with them. Some tell the living to go on, to be with another person, to find love again. It is all quite beautiful. Only the love remains. Whatever else there was in the earth-body is gone, but the spirit lives on. John tells us "bereavement is a process that you should move THROUGH rather than hold on to". One of the many heartwarming readings that John shares in this book is about 5-year old Jennifer, who died following a kidney operation. During the reading with her mother, he kept hearing "clackety-clack" over and over again (an example of the specifics I talked about from the spirit world). When he asked the mother if this sound meant something to her, she explained that they bought Jennifer clogs with metal heals. They were too big for her feet but she loved them so. She used to walk up and down the halls "clackety-clack" all the time. When Jennifer died, they buried her wearing the shoes. Jennifer also asked John to "tell Mommy it doesn't hurt anymore and that I love the balloons." The mother explained that on Jennifer's birthday and on the anniversary of her death, the parents stuff balloons with messages for her and release them into the sky. Jennifer's name and photo are on each balloon. (Pause here to blow your nose and wipe your eyes.) There are many stories of love in this book. John also explains that we often receive signs and symbols from Heaven but many of us just aren't tuned in and so we miss them. Some common signs/symbols may be dreams, smells, touches, numbers, breezes, feelings, and electrical blips. John also provides guidance for parents with psychic and sensitive children. Those "imaginary" friends may be relatives and other friendly spirits. These personal stories from John's chronicles give you a chance to get "into" the story, and to laugh and even cry with the client. The "cry" is not one of sadness, but is about a very emotional joy that touches your soul, in knowing that love never dies. I met John at a conference about 2 years ago in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Of course, I also attended his presentation and he was wonderful. He provided some very specific information to the audience about those spirits who were visiting, to confirm their presence. He explained this was how he learned to develop his skills in England, by asking the spirit visitors for SPECIFIC information (so you KNEW who they were and who they were visiting for, without any doubt). He was great and he convinced me that he was sincere and genuine. I also have a couple of John's CDs and found them great for learning and meditating. His voice is calming and pleasant. "Psychic Navigator" (see my review on Amazon) was my first John Holland book. It is a small book, but contains a really nice CD with it. His CDs and books have also provided me with answers to some of my personal questions and validation for some of my experiences, including the intense sensitivity I felt when my chakras opened up wide and the veil dropped.. This book could also be very helpful to someone who is grieving a loss, or to someone who is experiencing a terminal illness. Outstanding book! Namaste'

Gotta read this book!,

This review is from: The Spirit Whisperer: Chronicles of a Medium (Paperback)
Since my mother passed almost 10 years ago, I have been somewhat skeptical, but very curious about life after death and the possibility of connecting with her. I have read many helpful books over the years but this book really captivated me and left me wanting to read more. It's full of compelling, heartfelt, and honest stories of people John has helped as well as detailed and fascinating accounts of his personal experiences and development as a medium. At times I found myself nodding along in agreement, while other times I was tearful or simply mesmerized. This book really affirmed for me that the "other side" exists and that we are not just connected to our loved ones in the physical world, but more importantly in the unseen world, through our thoughts, dreams or unexplained feelings and experiences. Thank you John!

This was my first John Holland book and I was pleasantly surprised. The book not only contains many interesting readings that John has given but also includes chapters on the Spiritualist Church, psychic art, reincarnation and animals and the afterlife. Subjects I haven't read much about in the large collection of spiritual books I already own.
