From Publishers Weekly

From an Otoh Gunga Cowabunga (featuring "Bubble City Pops,... floating frozen confections") to all that's needed to enjoy "Jabba's Movie Marathon" (including a recipe for "Salacious Crumb Couch Potatoes"), The Star Wars Party Book: Recipes and Ideas for Galactic Occasions by Mikyla Bruder, photos by Frankie Frankeny, has fans of The Force covered. The hardcover-encased, spiral-bound volume offers party planning tips, instructions on how to make a "Death Star Pinata," costume ideas and more; a gold sticker page winds up the volume. All ages.

From School Library Journal

Grade 3-5-Devotees of the films will enjoy the six parties described and illustrated with color photos of action figures and line-art portraits of the characters. Each theme has accompanying recipes, crafts ideas, and games or activities that are interchangeable. "Otoh Gunga Cowabunga" is a summer outdoor party, while "Jabba's Movie Marathon" is an all-day movie festival in an improvised home "theater." Some of the suggested dishes, such as fish fajitas or strawberries with crŠme fra"che, are a little sophisticated for young children, but on the whole the sandwiches, treats, and juice drinks are creative and easy for Jedi Masters (adults) to prepare and fun for young Jedis to consume. Many of the games are standard fare but enhanced by Star Wars names and props. Some of the crafts require completion before the party, but others provide constructive time during the gathering. Procedural steps are numbered and clear, but they are not individually illustrated; there are color photos of finished products, such as Handmaiden Pajamas (dyed T-shirts). A trivia quiz and self-adhering stickers are included. With the continuing popularity of Star Wars and the amount of fun that this book holds, it won't spend much time at the base.
