Product Description

Product Description

In moving reflections, Dr. RoseAnne Coleman shares heartwarming as well as difficult stories about growing up in the turbulent South of the 1950s and 60s. A lover of gardening, Dr. Coleman compares the painful and wounding moments in life to what every garden needs - manure. When manure is aged and combined with other nutrients, it can enrich any soil, producing a beautiful garden. Her first book, Stories I Keep, shares her journey to make sense of her stories. Along the way, she finds a loving God who points her to the beauty, purpose, and hope that He has been growing in her life all along.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an Amazing Journey, Feb 9 2009
By Gina Trent - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Stories I Keep (Paperback)
The Stories I Keep is a journey down memory lane where Dr. RoseAnne Coleman shares her personal growth in her relatinship with God. Her words are simple and comforting but her wisdom is vast and heartfelt. She pulls from her childhood and looks at what God has taught her. She begins by planting seeds in a garden and watches the care of young plants transcend into the caring for others and herself. She brings back childhood memories that for her explain the growing process. She combines wit and humor with provoking thoughts that keep the reader grinning and nodding throughout. These are heartwarming tales filled with personal joys and pain. You will never think of Roy Rogers or Dale Evans in the same way again. And, when you meet Miss Helen Wright, you will melt into your big arm chair and read until your heart is full.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational, Timely and Humorous..., Jan 19 2009
By Laura Lyn Donahue - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Stories I Keep (Paperback)
The Stories I Keep RoseAnne Coleman has a unique gift for speaking and relating to women; however, her talent for writing is well-defined in The Stories I Keep. RoseAnne is a champion for women and for capturing their hearts for Jesus. In The Stories I Keep, the reader is drawn in on a more personal level with RoseAnne and is taken on a journey through significant stories from RoseAnne's childhood through present-day. RoseAnne is a woman of compassion and love, and that love could not be better demonstrated than through the second chapter of her book called, Broken Colors. If the reader were to read only one chapter in this book, this would be the one. It's a chapter that exposes, at an early age, RoseAnne's gift for caring for others without regard to race, color, religion, age, etc. She blurs any line of distinction and loves well because she herself has been loved with an everlasting love that transcends all mystery and knowledge. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reading Her Book was like listening to Her in Person!, Jan 8 2009

I loved this book! It was like sitting across from RoseAnne with a cup of coffee and her telling stories from her life that are both pleasant and thought provoking. Southern living and dependance on God were laid out, so that even a gal from the north (Canada) could understand.
