As ever, the master storyteller's language lends his swashbuckling adventures a mysterious and magical quality, as well as a hint of the Old World as the characters address each other with thees and thous. Hearkening back to medieval times, Jacques presents a tale of courageous warriors and grotesque evildoers alike, each group journeying toward conflicting ends. Danger, fear, action, heroism--Taggerung is an intense page-turner with startling plot twists that will keep readers on their toes. Brian Jacques is getting better and better,

This review is from: The Taggerung (Hardcover)
The most suspenful of the books. Yes, it even goes against the Pearls of Lutra. This book's charachter is the best of them all. Tagg is truly unqiue. All the heroes of the stories before, except for my buddy Song, were heroes from the start. Tagg was introduced as a villian, but within a few pages after we met him, we realize he has a heart. He cares. Then we have Nimbalo, the little mouse abused as a child. I had to be saddened by that. Then we have Cregga...and won't talk about her. But i felt very happy at seeing Russano as an adult. I felt proud, like I had raised him myself. The Redwall series is wonderful, but this and Martin the Warrior are the best.

This was my favorite book in the entire Redwall series. I really suggest reading it for yourself. It has a suspensful plot throughout the novel, and there is constant action and mystery.

One of the Best of The Best,

This review is from: Taggerung (Hardcover)
This book is one of the best Redwall books that I have ever read. The book is filled with adventure, and the forces of good against evil. I appriciate Brian Jaques's unique talent, and his extrodinary sense of what us readers would like. All of the villians, from Sawney Rath to Antigra give life and spice to plot. While old Cregga Badgermum gives us reassurance that all will turn out ok. My friends and I have read and reread the Redwall books over and over again. We absolutely love these books. Before I go I would just like to give a shout-out to Brian Jaques, THANK YOU for writing these wonderful books.
