Product Description

About the Author

Beatrix Potter is regarded as one of the world's best-loved children's authors of all time. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood. A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.

Once upon a time there was a Pussy-cat called Ribby, who invited a little dog called Duchess, to tea.

"Come in good time, my dear Duchess," said Ribby's letter, "and we will have something so very nice. I am baking it in a pie-dish - a pie-dish with a pink rim. You never tasted anything so good! And you shall eat it all! I will eat muffins, my dear Duchess!" wrote Ribby.

I absoulutly love this story! When I was really little, Beatrix Potter was one of my favorite authors, and still is. Her stories are so sweet fo little children, especially this one. This is one of my personal favorites, and I believe that you will agree when you're done with this childhood classic. Her illustrations are so cute and well done and colorful! Her whole series of books about animals are all tied together. They all know each other and are all friends. This is a great story for children, especially ones with appreciation of animals.

Great little story. The pictures in this book are fantastic for any Schipperke owner. The artist depicted these dogs wonderfully.
Another great example of Beatrix Potter’s work April 22 2015
By Kurt A. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
When a little dog named Duchess gets an invitation to tea at the home of Ribby the cat, she becomes dreadfully afraid that Ribby is going to serve her mouse pie. Duchess has a delightful veal and ham pie, and comes up with a very clever plan to substitute her own pie for Ribby’s. But, when she can’t Ribby’s pie, things begin to go from bad to worse.

This cute little book is another great example of Beatrix Potter’s (1866-1943) work. The story is simple and yet fun, and the watercolor illustrations (also by Ms. Potter) are excellent. Overall, I found this to be a wonderful story, one that I enjoy reading to my little one. We both highly recommend this book!

Story 10 Illustrations 0 Jan. 30 2009

Of course I love the stories but its all about the illustrations and there are none. A huge disappointment. Got a sample of the Beatrix Potter Tales, Illustrated collection by MobileReference and it had them and they come out pretty well on the Kindle.

Also, what is with the way the author name shows up as Beatrix, 1866-1932 Potter rather than Potter, Beatrix or simply Beatrix Potter.
