Review

This book takes Tarot to the next level. Christina Bjergo reveals that hidden within the Major Arcana is the entire path of alchemy, complete with symbols and powerful spiritual practices. Ms. Bjergo is one of the few authors who have completely dedicated herself to the alchemical path of the Serpent Masters. I fully endorse her work. (Mark Amaru Pinkham, author of The Return of the Serpents of Wisdom). Throughout this bold and ambitious book, Christina Bjergo maintains a lightness of touch that helps you through the wealth of information and insight. In each chapter, the author makes connections that show you the Tarot Trumps in a new light. If you're a Tarot reader interested in Chinese thought, this book makes fascinating reading. (Mick Frankel, Tarot Association of the British Isles).

Product Description

Christina Bjergo reveals the tarot as keeper of the secret Taoist practice of Qigong and the Way to health, happiness, and spiritual truth. Woven within the major arcana cards are little known wisdom teachings for inner cultivation through the body-minded practice of Qigong. The Tao of Tarot is a personal dream journey and practical guidebook teaching how to explore dream symbols to unity consciousness and enhance intuition.

This review is from: The Tao of Tarot: The Way to Health, Happiness and Spiritual Illumination through Qigong Dreaming (Paperback)
I eagerly awaited the publication of this book, wondering how my friend Christina would pull together her vast research and powerful spiritual insight. I have practiced Qigong with Christina for a couple of years now, and can vouch for the amazing healing experiences of regular practice. But I am not as familiar with Tarot, and have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see her wisdom in book form. I started reading as soon as I received my copy! "The Tao of Tarot" is a fascinating book that successfully combines sophisticated analysis of mythic symbolism with personal experience. In addition, I found that it serves as a potent invitation to reconsider one's own dreams, personal experience with symbol, and the interconnectedness of cultures within a dreamtime framework. It has a mysterious healing quality as well, drawing the reader into a new awareness of wisdom in all its guises. I highly recommend "The Tao of Tarot" and hope that it will help you find new wisdom and a sense of healing synchronicity~

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tao of Tarot, Feb 18 2010
By Elizabeth - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Tao of Tarot: The Way to Health, Happiness and Spiritual Illumination through Qigong Dreaming (Paperback)
The author has followed a unique path of combining dreams, extensive travels (following her internal guidance) and the wisdom of the Tarot. Add to this the simple yet powerful qigong described in the book. It was intriguing to observe how her seemingly complex dreams unfolded into explicit guidance in her personal journey. And, how her experiences can be a learning tool to anyone fascinated with the interplay of dreams and the Tarot.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in uncovering and interpreting the many layers and messages gleaned from one's dreams using the tools recommended by the author. I also found that this book can become a most helpful and transforming daily guide. After reading and enjoying it I decided to keep the Tao of Tarot by my bedside. Since then I have found many helpful insights by simply opening and reading random pages from the book.

I am a avid reader of the history of the tarot and a Qi Quong practitioner. Some parts of the book are a interesting read but on the whole it is a odd mixture of hermetic , New Age, Daoist thinking with ties to Gnostic Christian thinking. The part of the book on left brain vs right brain thinking makes no reference to being right or left handed , and the associated changes . It also does not mention the latest thinking on the subject. I would not buy this book unless you have a background that allows you to pass over some of the wish filled thinking that is passed off as fact.............
