The Thinking Person's UFO Book [Paperback]

If you are convinced that at least some UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin then you will love this book. Even if you are not convinced you might be persuaded. Gordon Chism believes he knows the answer to the great UFO puzzle, and if seeing is believing he has good reason to feel that way. The book is concise and well written and will also serve nicely as a primer for those who are new to the field. His recap of the near term history of the subject is fascinating and easy to read. In the end he adds his voice to the many who are pushing for a full disclosure by the government of all the information that may be in its possession.

Although Mr. Chism is obviously no stranger to such terms as "Quantum Entanglement," "Holographic Universes," "Remote Sensing", and other such sterile scientific terminology his approach to the subject of UFO's is pleasingly eloquent in its simplicity.

Mr. Chism is not overly concerned with the scientific reasoning behind anti-gravitational galactic travel or, inter-dimensional worlds but, the ability of the human mind to re-group its thought patterns in an effort to simply accept that such things can, and do exist.

As a basic premise the author focuses on the fact that "we," humans still rely totally upon our "emotional animal programming" (reptilian core/ limbic system) to analyze and accept what is around us. Those things that we can not comprehend (like UFO's), are subsequently and categorically subconsciously denied. According to the author, our present belief systems are based upon: "Status", "General Consensus", and "Faith/Denial." It is our own egos that dictate what is accepted and... what is not.

Mr. Chism is espousing that we should shed our skins of ego, self importance, and arrogance in order to initiate a paradigm shift in our belief systems so that, we can finally see ourselves in the "mirror of creation" for what, and who we really are. Then, and only then, will we be able to make headway in assisting ourselves and the "world/ universe" in which we live.

In order to impress upon the reader that the circumstantial evidence of extraterrestrial life is to great to ignore, the author gives an extensive three part "capsulated" history of UFO cases. This "encyclopedic jaunt" into classical case histories is well meaning but, perhaps too long and repetitious especially, for those of us who have followed the UFO enigma for the last thirty to forty years.

The author believes (like most of us), that the Government still possesses a great deal of information and is of the opinion that the citizenry of this country should band together and force the various agencies of the Government to open their files to the public through the introduction of a "UFO Legislation Bill." An active movement of this type according to the author, would ultimately initiate an overall paradigm shift in our ability to better rule and understand ourselves in the future.

The author's ideals are well meaning and philosophically sound. However, if, our government is "in denial" I can assure you that it is not "sub-conscious" in nature, but...totally and unequivocally conscious on all facets.

This is a relatively good book and gives the reader a great deal of basic information presented from a different vantage point. It leaves the reader with something to think about long after the covers have been closed . A worthy read.

This book is a triumph! Mr. Chism's latest work brings together several aspects of extra-terrestrial visitation activity -- a subject that, hitherto, I had not spent much time thinking about.

The author establishes his bona fides up front by telling of his own UFO encounter. If he is correct when he asserts that he and countless thousands of other earthlings have witnessed UFOs and/or closer encounters, then I have to accept that several other folks that I know are keeping mum about their own UFO sightings. Why would this be the case?

Religious people often share their own socially acceptable supernatural beliefs. Belief in the existence of UFOs is shared less frequently, apparently because it isn't socially acceptable.

All in all a good read and informative. Kudos are due Mr. Chism.
