I loved this show back when it was on fox forkids (by far the best tv cartoon production company of the day), so take anything I say with a grain of salt.
This season of The Tick is just as good as the first (again lacking any speacial features for the diehard fan) and is again missing the mysterous 13 episode, although this season doesn't have subtitles.
The only thing really lacking is that there hasn't yet as of this review come out with season 3 on dvd (hoping that there will be extras and the two missing 13 episodes if it ever does come out).
But as for this season they did a great job of bring the tick back to his true form, no unnessary editing or cutting of the oppening sequence (best use of ska ever).

Raynygrrl's comment is wrong. I ordered this DVD and it works perfectly inside my DVD player. If you look at the back of the case its says that it is a region 1 format which means that it will play in the USA and Canada. It also says that it is a NTSC which is also a USA and Canada format (I think they use PAL in the United Kingdom). Also if you look at the product details here on Amazon it says the following:

Region: (US and Canada This DVD will probably NOT be viewable in other countries. Read more about DVD formats.)

So either Raynygrrl lives in a different country (with a different format) or she does live in the USA or Canada but is not using a NTSC region 1 format DVD player.

Now for the review of the DVD.

It brings back good memories and is very funny to watch. The picture and volume quality was perfect. For some odd reason it says on the back of the case "this collection does not contain episode #15". I do not know why they would exclude that specific episode.

As great as it is to have a dvd copy of the Tick Seasons on dvd, the dvds I received do NOT play on my DVD player. My 4 year old son and I were SO excited to have them arrive after watching grainy versions online only to find that the only possible way they can even be watched is to play them through my Xbox or on the computer. What a total waste of money. I was hoping for something he could watch in the car and on his portable dvd player and we can only play them at home on the computer or game system. If something is being sold as a dvd it should be proper for our region and playable on a dvd player. At this rate I might as well just streamed them online to the tv and saved myself the money !
