realist people, location.Story develops slowly and keeps you guessing til the end. I am a fan of Minette Walters books and was just a little disappointed that this one is rather short - but to the point.

Not worth the $ Aug. 1 2008
By Rose A. Butler - Published on Amazon.com

Minette Walters is one of my favorite authors, I have enjoyed to a greater or lesser degree every one of her other books. But this is more short story than novel, so while it is fast paced, even perhaps a little memorable, it isn't worth the cost. It is a British-published book, which no doubt accounts for it's high price, but I wish I'd spent my hard earned money on a book that entertained me for a longer time.

Iliked it but it really is a novelette not a novel March 5 2007

I did enjoy reading this, but the length does not justify the original retail price. So buy a used one like I did and i think you will be happy with it.

way too short Nov. 15 2007
By Susan E. Sladden - Published on Amazon.com

This story is way too short and not interesting enough to justify buying and shipping costs. If you can borrow it from a friend or library, it's a reasonably good way to kill an hour or so.
Short but sweet Minette Walters mystery. May 7 2014
By Susan M. Majesky - Published on Amazon.com

A short story with lots of twists and turns, the Tinder Box is a change from Walters usually full length novels. Interesting, and fun to read, it kept me guessing. I prefer the long novels, but this was a fun read.
An average work, that's all Sept. 23 2013

When compared to her CHICKENFEED, this is nothing. Though this one is way too short, there are lots of characters when compared to its length. And the story keeps jumping. At the end the mystery is revealed and I was not amused. An okay read.
