Product Description

Review

This is a worthwhile purchase for travelers: an affordable, easy-to-use survey of health challenges on the road, from your vacation's start to finish. (André Picard Globe and Mail 2002-09-21)

A sensible compendium that covers all situations. (Sheldon Kirshner Canadian Jewish News 2003-07-17)

The most comprehensive and commonsensical I've seen. It's also the most up-to-date ... Such a book is a public service. (George Fetherling New Brunswick Reader 2002-12-14)

Mark Wise has written a great book on travel health, obviously with a wealth of professional experience on the subject. His passion for travel and adventure is evident in his writing.... The book provides a balanced perspective on the realities of health risks in the distant corners of the globe. This is coupled with measures that can be taken in order to travel there, enjoy oneself, and appreciate other places. The Travel Doctor should be of particular interest to, and a good resource for, anyone with an interest in travel and to physicians who care for such people.... I highly recommend this book (Eric S. Lane, MD, FACP Canadian Family Physician, Journal of the College 2004-03-00)

Format: Paperback
I found this book very informative as well as humourous. The book covers every aspect of travel that you could possibly encounter.
The cartoons were very appropriate and funny. The advice on getting ready to travel and protecting yourself from infection and other diseases before you leave were invaluable.
How to take care of yourself en route, in the air, car or on a ship is something we all need to know.
I learned alot from this book and I will refer to it many times over the next few years as I travel.
