I bought all 5 seasons, one at a time and in order, from amazon.ca, which did offer them much cheaper than in stores. The price is lower now than what I paid!!! Others have noted the significant difference in price if ordering through Amazon.com instead.

The shows are great, the remastered picture and sound is good, and there's many special features. Season 1 even came with a book about the entire seasons, including reviews of every episode --- I enjoyed that.

The best seasons are 1, 2 and 3. Seasons 4 & 5 each have some great episodes, but fewer than the first 3 seasons. Season 4 had one-hour episodes (while the other seasons had half hour episodes) and it's the weakest season by far.

If you loved this show but aren't sure about spending the money, get the first 3 seasons only. If you want it all, get this definitive collection with all 5 seasons together and save a lot of money. Ultimately, I wish I had went this route, but I was being cautious buying one season at a time. The US price makes it a no-brainer, as far as I'm concerned.

Great product - takes me back to watching the re-runs as a kid - all 156 episodes in one package - could take for ever to see them all !

One thing to consider .... Canadians beware - the same item is on amazon.com for $80 less - even though you pay to ship it ($8) with no taxes and our dollar at par - it's a much better deal - I love to shop Canadian - but hey this is a lot of money !

One of my minor goals in life has been to never pay for postage with my orders from Amazon. Consequently on my Wish List I always have some paperbacks or DVDs on sale that I can use to get to the magic mark for free shipping. One of the things I have been using to make up the differences had been volumes of "The Twilight Zone," and I was just up to double-figures when I looked over what the deal was with "The Twilight Zone: The Complete Definitive Collection." Even given the fact that I have not had a math course since I was a freshman in high school, I figured out that the price of these 28-disc set would be considerably less than in would cost me to get all of those other volumes. Then I paid attention to the fine print and discovered that with these DVDs there were bonus features the likes of which you would not expect to see for a black & white television series that went off the air in 1964.

To give you an idea of what this means, here is what you get for bonus features just on Disc One of Season 1 of "The Twilight Zone": For "Where Is Everybody?" there is audio commentary by actor Earl Holliman and an isolated score by Bernard Herman; "One for the Angels" has "The Twilight Zone" Radio Drama starring Ed Begley, Jr.; "Mr. Denton on Doomsday" has audio commentary by actor Martin Landau; "The Sixteen Millimeter Shrine" has an isolated score by Franz Waxman; "Walking Distance" has part of a Rod Serling lecture given at Sherwood Oaks College in 1975 and another isolated score by Hermann; "Escape Clause" is a rare episode without a bonus feature; and "The Lonely" has another Hermann score.

Now, I can care less about the isolated scores, but the rest of the extras are great.

This 2006 Image Entertainment release of the complete 156 episodes of the original Twilight Zone is a fitting tribute to this remarkable, engaging and classic TV Show.It also could be said that this is everything you ever wanted to know about the show and so much more. With space restrictions I cannot possibly list everything that is available to you but I will highlight some of them for you and hopefully in doing so whet your appetite:All shows have been remastered from the original film elements and look wonderfully crisp and clean throughout, the majority of eps have special features built into them like interviews with various writers and producers, commentaries by actors who appeared in them and isolated music scores,a special features area on the last disc of every season, almost all previews of next weeks' show by Serling have been reinserted into each ep along with the original endings c/w end commercials(!),there are many tv clips showing Rod Serling appearing on other various shows of the times like Jack Benny,Garry Moore,Groucho Marks, etc.,filmed excerpts from a writers quorum he hosted, audio excerpts from a Sherwood Oaks College lecture series, the 1995 Amercian Masters Rod Serling tribute, and on and on.The dearth of material at your disposal within these discs is absolutely astounding and Image has done this series proud and it will be a benchmark that will stand for years to come.
If you own Mark Zichree's wonderful book "The Twilight Zone Companion"(I have the original /82 edition)it is easy to think you "know it all",but let me tell you that is NOT the case. With or without the book there is just so much to see and learn here that you will come away with a whole new understanding and appreciation for not only the series itself but the man behind the show,Mr.Rod Serling.
