Product Description

Album Description

Limited two disc (CD/DVD) edition includes bonus DVD containing over 60 minutes of footage.2011 album from the Dutch Metal outfit. The Unforgiving is the band's most diverse album to date, a dazzling tour-de-force of state-of-the-art Hard Rock, gleaming Pop melodies, razor-sharp arrangements, and powerful, shadow-shrouded atmospheres. The Unforgiving is quite unlike any previous Within Temptation album. Every one of its 12 tracks boasts a huge, instantly memorable melody, and yet there is enormous diversity and versatility on display here, as the band move skillfully from the instant thrills of the anthemic "Shot In The Dark", the blissfully metallic "In The Middle Of The Night", and the soaring menace of first single "Faster," through to the epic bombast of Iron," the exhilarating drama of "Where Is The Edge" and the irresistible disco thump of "Sin‚ad."

4.0 out of 5 stars Metal No More, April 9 2011
By
This review is from: The Unforgiving CD/DVD (Audio CD)
I like this album, however, it's about as symphonic as Nickelback, and about as gothic as Shania Twain. This album sounds very much like Heart, and hardly anything like Elis or Sirenia.

Just listen the the single, Faster, and tell me you can't imagine Anne Wilson belting out the vocals, and tell me you can't imagine Nancy launching herself into the air and hammering the guitar with the main riff of the song.

So, if you like Heart (and I do), then you'll probably like this. If you like Epica, Tristania, Nightwish or even Delain, you'll probably be disapointed.

Basically it's a decent American style rock album. It sounds like they've chosen to go mainstream, perhaps to get better leverage in the North Americal market.

I like this album, the band, and the people in it; it's just not got the depth, complexity or beauty of some of their earlier albums, just simple, predictable, easy to listen to California style rock.

I'd give this 3.5 stars.

Great song than you can't get out of your head, very well write good lyrics. i like this album in the same way than the heart of everything. The only thing than i like the less is this is not very metal and symphonic, it become more hardrock alernative with a touch of synphonic. Great album i don't reget to had buy it
