It is a very good series and most likely none other presents more original footage of the Eastern Front, which definitely had more significance in the war, just by sheer number of Germans who had to fight in the East, as compared to the Western front. Moreover, after defeat of France until D-Day Eastern Front was the only one which saw the most significant activities in Europe.
However I have also watched the Russian version of this set (produced in Russia), since original series was simultaneously shown in USSR and in the Western countries. Russian version has voice-over translation of narratives. However the quality in Russian version is much better. This version (English) appears to be a very good VCR rip, you can see what appears to be a characteristic stripe on the bottom of the picture, however very small.
So in my opinion, the best option would be to have Russian version of this set but with the English soundtrack, however unfortunately this is impossible.
Overall, I would highly recommend this set to everybody.

Excellent Videos. Very profound and true historically. Was interesting to watch all of them. Something we have to learn from. Never in history was such an epic war. And it is portayed wonderfully. Worth of money.

Long overdue, for those who have not learned in the school, or otherwise, that Nazi Wermacht kept on transferring large formations even after D-day in Normandy from the west to this front, which they called Ost Front (Eastern front). To confront the Red Workers-Peasant Army (RKKA), which was crushing them. If we call this front Russian, we are making a serious historical injustice to millions of Soviet soldiers of Ukrainian, Bielorus, Kazakh, Armenian, Georgian, Uzbek, Latvian, Jewish, Kirgiz, Tadzhik etc. ethnic origin, who were fighting together with their Russian brethren.
