This is an extremely informative book, giving you loads of information about everything you could possibly want to know about going to Disneyland. They have information about the hotels and restaurants in the area as well as detailed insights into the parks & their attractions(Disneyland & DCA). Also included is a lot of information about the shops in Downtown Disney. There are really great tips and insider info that will help you to maximize your trip. The information about the new Cars Land in DCA is also very helpful (last years book outlined the info, but now they have real reviews). They also include a lot of feedback from past guests, so their experiences really help you to see different points of view, and to try things you might not otherwise have been interested in.
Each ride, hotel, restaurant and item is described and rated to make your choices simple.They also offer a very intuitive rating system for showing how each ride rates with each age group, and if the ride is scary, dark or will make you queasy ect... There is a lot of information for travelling with kids, with seniors, without kids ect... so that you can really focus on what appeals to your group.
I was also very pleased to see a small section on Universal Studios Hollywood. They detail that park and it's rides, as well as some hotels around that park. They include a great review of the new Transformers ride.
This book is much better than the Birnbaum's offical guide to Disneyland. The detail & care that this book takes, and it's ability to be critical where required, really make this the best guide you can get for planning your next Disneyland trip. While we may not use the detailed plans when we go, I am definitely bringing this book with us for use while there.
