This review is from: The Unquiet Heart (Paperback)
Danny McRae the damaged OSE veteran is part Marlowe, part Rebus and completely engrossing. This second book (his first,Truth Dare Kill was also a great read) to feature the down at heel PI paints a vivid but desperate picture of London and Berlin circa 1946. The mystery is uncomplicated, not a brain teasing whodunnit more of a thisiswhyitwasdun! Great new writer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent, April 1 2012
By The Emperor - Published on Amazon.com
This was a pretty decent and well written thriller/ crime novel.

The setting is quite interesting and the author generally does a good job in portraying the post ww2 atmosphere. Occasionally some of the characters may have had a slightly too modern attitude but for the most part the book was pretty believable.

The author writes well and the main storyline was quite compelling. There are plenty of interesting characters and the hero of the book is particularly well drawn.

The action scenes were quite well handled and it all flowed together quite nicely. It succeeded in being a real page turner and as it is pretty cheap I would thoroughly recommend this.
