Here we go for the release of the final two volumes (both slated for release on July 24, 2012) that will conclude and complete the series for ardent fans of THE UNTOUCHABLES! For those not familiar with this great television crime drama classic, the story arc centers around the late ELIOT NESS (played brilliantly by Robert Stack) who campaigned against and ultimately crushed the criminal empire of the notorious gangland empire chiefton AL CAPONE.

Season four (Vol. One) featured guest stars: Harvey Korman, James Caan, Roy Thinnes, Dorothy Malone, Lee Marvin, Walter koenig, Edward Asner, J. D. Cannon, Michael Constantine, Frank Gorshin, Elizabeth MacRae, Carroll O'Conner, Barbara Stanwyck, Woodrow Parfrey, Joe Campanella, Telly Savalas, Ted Knight and many more!

This four disc set will feature the following episodes (with air dates):

1. The Night They Shot Santa Claus 9/25/62
2. Cooker In The Sky 10/2/62
3. The Chess Game 10/9/62
4. The Economist 10/16/62
5. The Pea 10/23/62
6. Bird In The Hand 10/30/62
7. The Eddie O'Gara Story 11/13/62
8. Elegy 11/20/62
9. Come And Kill Me 11/27/62
10. A Fist of Five 12/4/62
11. The Floyd Gibbons Story 12/11/62

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Many Pilots for Other Series Aug 1 2012

This is very disappointing. I loved the first three seasons, but this is beyond lame. Desilu was using the show to showcase proposed new series: Barbara Stanwyck and Ed Asner tracking missing persons, Dane Clark and John Gabriel as contagious disease investigating doctors and Scott Brady as a one eyed globe trotting reporter.. All dominate the episodes they're in and it's a waste.

There's a few goodies. Frank Nitti returns in a later episode and makes you realize how important Bruce Gordon is to the show. Lee Marvin, James Caan and Roy Thinnes star as brothers in a great episode. The best, though, is when the ever present Nehemiah Persoff returns as Jake Guzik to team up with Harry Morgan as Bugsy Moran. But these great moments, so prevalent in the first three seasons, are just too few in this volume.

4.0 out of 5 stars definitely ... UNTOUCHABLE! Aug 13 2012

The Untouchables (Season 4): Don't believe everything you read ... there is absolutely no drop in quality regarding this last season of an absolutely CLASSIC TV series. It may possibly be considered the lesser of the 4 seasons, but the acting, production values, guest stars ... all contributed to a fantastic and worthy program ... making "The Untouchables" probably one on the BEST classic TV crime-series of all time (ranking right along side "Hawaii Five-0"). It could well be that the Desilu Studio interests began to lose concentration during this final season and began expanding their efforts into other areas. Also, there were probably not too many more stores to be told (exposed) during this brief span of the Eliot Ness chronicles (1929-1933). I would have savored a final fifth season to wrap it all up, but the TV Gods denied that. All in all ... I own all 4 season sets ... and they are at the TOP of my collectible TV favorites (which are quite numerous and varied). This was a one-of-a-kind series and it will always be that. Enjoy and embrace what you will never again experience from a time back when you never expected such greatness.
