The "O" in OMD means Oriental,
By heathbc888 (Corona del Mar, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Vaccine Guide: Risks and Benefits for Children and Adults (Paperback)
Being a new parent, I wanted to review thorough, objective scientific data based on up-to-date and sound research principles before taking the plunge and making vaccination decisions on my child's behalf. Unfortunately, this book doesn't even come close to that standard. Please be advised that this "doctor" is a doctor of homeopathic and oriental medicine (whatever that means). It is obvious from page uno that this fellow is completely biased against corporate America, and the conspiracy theories that the author eschews becomes tiresome very quickly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND another book in the place of this one - "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations" by Dr. Stephanie Cave (a real doctor). I cannot recommend that book highly enough. It is extremely well laid out and complete with all the facts necessary to make your choices. After reading this book all parents will understand what the issues are and what your rights are with respect to those issues. Also, Dr. Cave includes a recommended vaccination schedule based on her extensive experience, thereby taking the guesswork out things. In addition, all her research is referenced at the end of each paragraph should you wish to do additional research (I personally found that this was unnecessary however!).

This review is from: The Vaccine Guide: Risks and Benefits for Children and Adults (Paperback)
This is a good bookwith a good start for parents to get there hands on to help inform and prepare them to make a good decision. It is easy to read and full of facts and some opinions and experiences. This is a good book to read but if you want scientific data presented on BOTH sides of the issue, with point and counter point facts then read Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective? By Neil Z. Miller. If you are going to read multiple books be sure to pick up The Vaccine Guide: Risks and Benefits but if you are only going to read one book make it Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective.

This review is from: The Vaccine Guide: Risks and Benefits for Children and Adults (Paperback)
This book does what others don't. Most books and articles offer opinions. This book provides logical discussion with verifiable sources of all data and studies quoted. Writing is clear, comprehensive, and balanced. Read the book, verify the sources if you like, then come to your own conclusions.
