I truly believe that the ghost writer had no idea what they were doing! Stephen, Damon, Bonnie and Elena seemed to back track rather than grow! L.J Smith did a wonderful job on all of her books and it is a shame that she was fired because her characters have become quite dull. I would not recommend buying this book because it is not very interesting and does no justice towards any of the characters.

i will not be purchasing this or any further vampire diary books. i have enjoyed the original series and the ones LJ smith has written. I refuse to take part in supporting changes that do not make sense simply because some jerk decided he knew better than the person who created the characters in the first place. To take a series from someone who created the world is simply wrong!

Knowing that a ghost writer is now writing these books because the publisher has taken the books away from the writer is really disturbing.

Elena is as flighty as ever. Its obvious that Damon is her passion and her karma, yet the publisher seems to persist in keeping her bouncing between Damon and Stefan, after 8 books this is very disappointing.
