1.0 out of 5 stars Not a VEGAN bible at all. Nov 2 2012
    By BV
    Format:Paperback
Although this book has some good information and basic recipes, this is not what i would call a "Vegan Cook's Bible".
I was looking for a book with vegan nutrition facts in it as I have serious allergies and am trying to find alternatives for certain nutrients (ie omega 3's and B12). Within the first few pages I became extremely disappointed when the non-vegan author sights fish, eggs, milk, and other animal products among a few vegan options as the most nutritious forms for optimal health. Very misleading title. I would not recommend this book as the concept of veganism is lost, but as a general nutrition guide for those interested in vegetarian meals. If you are a vegan or considering going vegan, I would suggest looking for another book.

    1.0 out of 5 stars Non-Vegan Author Writes Non-Vegan Cookbook Dec 16 2010
    Format:Paperback
Fish and honey are not vegan. Veganism is about non-violence and the refusal to cause unnecessary harm to animals. Both fish and honey are unnecessary for humans, and harm is inherent in their use (just like all uses of animals).

It doesn't take a vegan to make a cookbook full of plant-based foods. But if you're going to label your book the "Vegan Cook's Bible", you should at least understand what veganism is about.
