Royal Wood is one of my favourite artists, and this album is fantastic. The songs are beautifully composed and the lyrics are wonderful. I must have listened to this album about 50 times in a row after purchasing it!

How can I be the first person to review this album? I heard The Waiting during the opening minutes of the new series Being Human (US version) and had to pause the show to find the song and artist. Royal Wood just hits that spot for me. Think Joshua Radin, Peter Bradley Adams... and yet uniquely his own voice. Beautiful instrumentation, lyrics that took more than a minute to write and that tell a story worth hearing, not to mention his wonderful voice. Buy it and enjoy it. This will be on my favorites playlist for some time.

I first discovered Royal while watching the first episode, of the first season, of SyFy's Being Human. The song was "A Mirror Without" and I have been hooked ever since, I am regularly downloading from iTunes. The phrase "absolutely beautiful" can not even begin to describe how much I love this music. These songs are free of a lot of the noisy production that I have noticed in much of today's popular music, just a man and his piano, and that is what I like most about them.
I have noticed his songs popping up on the soundtracks for other TV shows, and I really hope the exposure will lead to a US tour. I'll keep hoping, but in the mean time, I am planning a trip to Canada.
