The Walking Dead Book 1 was fantastic, and one of the best comics I've come across yet. The art is beautiful, and while it has no colour, I couldn't imagine it any other way at this point. The black and white just gives it such a raw feel, and brings out the tones of the story.
The Walking Dead Book 2 seems to be harder to find (as of this writing.) I had to order it from the Amazon.ca bookstore "Also Available from These Sellers" and pay a small extra bit of shipping, but it was beyond worth it as Book 2 does not disappoint!
Book 2 picks up right after Book 1, and this time, it's more about the characters and how they're dealing with everything. Kind of like how "Lost" was on TV, the first season was man Vs. the island, and the second was more Man Vs. Man...the Walking Dead Book 2 is more how these people who worked to survive through the first book, really realize they're strangers. Sure they're a small group coming together to survive, but really, can someone change just because the world does?
It's an intense read, and another one I couldn't put down. Can't wait to get book 3 and 4, and I advise anyone even remotely interested in testing the waters of this series to purchase all four hardcovers. The price is too good to pass up, and really is some of the best stuff out there today.
