The Walking Dead is a stellar series written by Robert Kirkman. At first glance, it looks like a zombie gore comic. Once you actually read it, you can discover it is much more than that. This 3rd Omnibus is Oversized and features a gorgeous cover (Not dust cover). It collects issues 49-72. Even though the interior art is black and white, it is detailed & works very well. The fact that it is in oversize only adds too Adlard's excellent art. The full color covers are featured in the back, something you can't find in the trade paperbacks. This omnibus collects 4 TPB's, which is four storylines. In this omnibus you'll read about how the Survivors recover from their recent losses and attempt to reach Washington D.C. Overall, I give this a 5/5.

If you're considering buying this, you're already a fan of the comic series. If you've only watched the TV series, hold off on reading this until you've read the previous comics or more seasons of the show air. This collection picks up the action well into the comic's run. The book is beautiful. Nice hard cover with additional artwork that collects each issue's covers and some character sketches. Pieces by Kirkman detail how some of the cover and interior artwork changed from the original concept.
