Product Description

After three highly successful albums, many tours on both continents and prestigious festivals, the band returns this October with an album awaited by many in suspense. "The Way of All Flesh" will once and for all confirm the impressive force of Gojira, its innovative sense, and last but not least prove that Gojira's music has no boundaries when it comes to fanbase. Backed up with an incredibly punchy and heavy production by Logan Mader and a live show that hasn't been equaled by any act in the current scene, "The Way of All Flesh" will find its place in the world as an instant classic. The album speaks of the death of the flesh and the immortality of the soul, also of the fact that we will all leave this world at one point and that we have to accept that finality and the afterlife. Its a requiem for our planet who is dying, the frustration by the behavior of mankind. It also expresses the certainty that a good conscious change can make a difference, just like their music can change, we can change things as human beings.

What a great groove prog metal album. Poly rhythms and great tone. Good catchy songs too. Album is about life and death.

100% Original! Oct. 14 2008
By Hot Sauce - Published on Amazon.com

Gojira is a band that is very unlike others in a scene where a lot of extreme bands seem to be just carbon copies of other extreme bands. On this particular outing Gojira are finding their voices and wearing their influences a little less on the proverbial sleeve. Well, I first heard of Gojira in an interview that Randy Blythe gave and he highly recomended these french men, so it is to say the least and to make a long story short, I purchased From Mars to Sirius soon after. At first I really couldn't wrap my head around fMtS and considered it a waste of hard earned cash. I gave the disc a few chances and put it away. Well Gojira didn't stay put for long because one I was pretty bored and wanted to listen to something different and fMtS was there staring at me, daring me to give it another go and this time it was a truly different experience! From that moment on I was a fan, and much like fMts, The Way of all Flesh is 100% original and a breath of fresh air! There is no other band out there just like them, if you haven't heard them yet give Gojira a chance! You won't be disapointed.

Great, innovative, and original metal Oct. 31 2008
By funktion - Published on Amazon.com

As some other reviewers have indicated, Gojira takes a few listenings in order to be fully comprehended and appreciated. I believe this is a quality of really great music. Even I did not like this album the first time I heard it and I am a huge Gojira fan. I think this initial dislike of Gojira's music is due to preconceptions of music. If it doesn't sound similar to something you liked in the past it may produce an initial aversion. But if you give it some time you will begin to pick up on the qualities that make this band and this album great such as their composition, aggression, and technically awesome musicianship. Another thing that makes this album a must buy is that it is a great whole album. Contemporary music today is filled with artists that release one hit single and fill the rest of the album with garbage. Gojira is like Pink Floyd, one of my other most favorite bands, in many ways such as musical innovation and producing great albums that need to be listened to from beginning to end. Do yourself a huge favor and buy this album.

Message? Dynamics? Metal? Dec 1 2008

Well, there isn't much more I can add to most of the on point comments below other than... If you are a fan of heavy, creative music. Are sick of the played out typical 'breakdowns' common in the current metal genres and can appreciate a little experimentation in your music, THIS is a cd you should own. The production is top notch, the musicianship is excellent, and the lyrics actually have a point.

Whats great around this release, just like their last, is that its ALOT to digest in one sitting. In todays world of terrible music, both metal AND pop, its nice to feel like you are getting your money's worth. MUSIC INDUSTRY TAKE NOTES. Gojira's cd may not be the MUSIC that you need to promote, but it is an example of how to take a played out genre and spin it to give it a breath of fresh air.

Absolutely Amazing! Aug. 23 2011
By Archaengel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
You know, it's so crazy because i was on youtube looking for the song "die trying" by the art of dying, and accidentally clicked on the art of dying by gojira. i listened to maybe half the song but thought, this guys voice sounds way too heavy for me to enjoy becuase i couldnt really understand what he was saying, and i like some metal. The next day, i had the music entirely stuck in my head and i couldn't get rid of it, so i looked up that song again and tried muscling through the voice. Clicking on more of their stuff, i found i really enjoyed their music and tones and feeling of their music. I finally bought the album and holy crap, this is one of the best albums i have ever listened to. the music is heavy, yes, but you have got to listen to them numerous times. Their lyrics are simply brilliant! Its amazing how deep these lyrics can be while sounding so amazing. I recently bought the other 3 albums now, and i think the way of all flesh is still my favorite, but these guys have got to be my favorite band now! These guys music proves that music can be powerful and meaningful and sound great, front to back. All music artists everywhere, pay attention to greatness!

Gojira - The Way of All Flesh

It's is incredibly rare to find new, fresh and original bands these days and Gojira is unique and talented and totally fills out the description.

Directly from France with hate, make no mistakes these guys are here to stay. I personally discovered their music with the album From Mars To Sirius and automatically got hooked. Now with TWOAF they brought the game to another level.

Gojira's music it's just too damn original!! It's a little prog and heavy as hell, melody and depending on the song even sing along choruses.

Here are some highlight songs from TWOAF: Oroborus, A sight to Behold, Vacuity, Toxic Garbage Island. After listening to those you will experience firsthand what's Gojira's all about.

Great album from a promising band indeed, can wait for the next one.

Cheers.
