Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The only downside to this book is that all the photos are black and white but you can't beat the 765 eight shaft drafts that it contains. Each one is shown with a B&W photo of a woven fabric sample alongside the draft. There is no commentary and all the space is taken up with the photos and the threading and tie-ups.

The book has a brief intro and section on planning and drafts. Then it starts with Chapter 1 - Twills. It has a chapter on shadow weave, overshot, crackle & waffle weave, Bronson lace and so on.

There are plenty of drafts to keep you busy. There's also an index at the back so you can look up which page a specific one is on.

If you have an 8 shaft loom, this book would be a great addition to your library.

A Weaver's Book of 8-Shaft Patterns: From the Friends of Ha Aug. 8 2000
By Mary Scott - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is the modern 8-shaft weaver's most treasured pattern resource! The 25 chapters are titled according to weave structure, and each begins with a thorough explaination of that structure and it's method of drafting notation. Black and white photos and drafts follow.
There are 765 patterns and samples from which to choose! As useful as a reference for 8-shaft weavers as Davison's Handweaver's Pattern Book is for those who use 4-shaft looms.

8 shaft patterns Dec 24 2013
By 36 years in teaching - Published on Amazon.com

I gave this a 3 because it is very (IMHO) advanced. Not having been a weaver all that long, many of the instructions are mystifying to me. I will need to get with someone who is more experienced to interpret the patterns and instructions given. That being said, the photos of the finished weave once the pattern is laid down in the loom is absolutely wonderful.
