I highly recommend this authentic and easy to follow practical weight loss guide written with the insights of a caring and passionate physician who has had first hand experience with obesity - David C.W. Lau, MD, PhD, FRCPC, president of Obesity Canada, editor-in-chief, Canadian Journal of Diabetes, and professor of medicine at the University of Calgary

If you're going to choose one no nonsense book about wight loss, this is it. It's got smart, practical details about diet, but it also makes you re-evaluate your relationship with food, which is the only way to long-lasting weight loss. Written by someone who has lived it and overcome it, this book will help you write your own recipe for success - Dawna Friesen, journalist, anchor, and executive editor of Global National

...weight loss book I have ever read.

I totally disagree with one star review by "Common Sense". So much so I have to write my first review. I ordered this book based on its `goodreads' description. Early on I was bookmarking the pages I found especially informative, interesting or valuable. I quickly had to up that to sticky notes, finally to a highlighter because this book is so full of insight and practical, real-world advice.

I promised a friend I would lend it to her once I was finished but (sorry Carolyne!) I've changed my mind. I'm hanging on this one - it is definitely a keeper.

- The Portion Distorter. And too much "Sitting Duck".

A great read, and some good tips on weight loss. I have gone from 240 to 195 lbs and this book was very helpful.

The only prescription for weight loss is: reduce calories and increase physical activity..period. Anything else is just common sense! My mother said it best 50 years ago...eat a balanced diet, and get fresh air and plenty of excersise!
