5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! Feb 2 2011
By daiser
Format:Hardcover
This is just what i was looking for. Compact, very nice red linen cover. In the begining, these are details about how to taste wine, the kind of grapes with a brief description of each, an intro to the wine regions of the world and so on...
There is also a section to take notes if visiting a winery and tips on hosting a wine party and pairing food with wine.
The rest of the book is reserved to takes notes on the wines you tasted along with room to stick the label.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this journal Aug 1 2011
By Monica
Format:Hardcover
This wine journal looks great from the outside, and I love that you can peel off your wine labels and stick them on the pages (even though I haven't exactly found the most effective way of taking them off). The only complaint I have is that the tasting notes section is almost halfway through the book. In front of it are sections for wineries visited and cellar notes, which is cool but not why I bought the journal. But other than that, it's great!

2.0 out of 5 stars The labels just don't fit! Aug 5 2005
By Dena C. Abdallah - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
While this is a great book to journal your cellar, winery visits, etc., the pages are too small to hold most wine labels. I found that many of the labels I had saved took up almost an entire page which made the book useless. Next time, they need to make the book quite a bit larger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like it Oct 27 2005
By T. C. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This journal is good for the home bound wine lover, it has a place to paste the wine label,(if you can get it off)but it is big. I like that you can choose to put weather it is red or white because red is favored in our household so the other journal's pages would have gone to waste. It has some usefull info inside too. I like it a lot, but it is not one you would take to a restaurant or tasting, it is just a lil too bulky for that.

4.0 out of 5 stars The perfect wine journal July 24 2008
By Morrigan Alexandros - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the perfect wine journal. It is small and easy to carry, especially when you are visiting wineries. The book contains useful information as well as sections to record wine purchases, visits to wineries and wines tasted. The book is small, so some wine labels do not fit. I just cut the sides a bit to make it fit. The book contains the following sections in a chapter titled "An Introduction to Wine":

Visiting Wine Country
The North American Vintner's Year
How to Taste Wines
Evaluating Wines
Buying Wines
Storing and Serving Wine
Hosting a Wine-Tasting Party

As I mentioned above, the book also contains sections where you fill in the information for Wineries Visited, Cellar Records, Tasting Notes and an extra section for Notes. The Tasting Notes section is my favorite because it gives you space to write your comments about the aromas, taste, body and color of the wine. It also gives you space to write whether the wine was opened for a special occasion and which, who were your guests and with which food the wine was paired with.

Excellent small but functional book.

P.S. The best way to remove labels from a wine bottle is to put it in the oven for 15 minutes (another 15 if needed) (label facing up) and then to peel it out. This melts the glue. The label still has enough glue left to put it in the wine journal without needing any other adhesive devices. Careful! The wine bottle will be hot so use protective gear and do it at your own risk.
