From School Library Journal
Grade 4-7-- Ben-Muzzy is a second-class junior wizard who miscasts a spell and finds himself transported from his own magical world into this more earthly one. Twins Gemma and Joel discover him and try to help him home; since the wizard cannot get any of his spells right, the three have several misadventures before finally finding Ben-Muzzy's home. There is plenty of adventure along the way, most of it more comical than suspenseful. None of the main characters are especially memorable, but their escapades are lively and amusing, and the black-and-white drawings adequately convey the story's humor. The plot is easy to follow, with the magical elements smoothly interwoven. This appealing light fantasy is a good choice for readers new to the genre, although Yolen's Wizard's Hall (HBJ, 1991) and Alexander's Wizard in the Tree (Dutton, 1974) are equally accessible and more involving. --Steven Engelfried, Alameda County Library, CA
