This book is a very good read even if you don't try any of the recipes. There is much information about nutrition and all the claims are backed up by credible studies, sources etc. The recipes are also incredible. Most of them are very quick and easy to make. They all use fresh and healthy ingredients. Most importantly though, it comes out tasting good! No old cardboard taste. Just fresh and good! I've tried at least 30 so far and I've been very impressed. I'm addicted!

Sensational compilation - fabulous nutritional analysis, recommendations, recipes. Almost unbelievable. His website is also of the same quality - he has put together an amazing team with exceptional credentials. After searching many sites and books, I can (and will) raise my infant son on these nutritional principles - they are solid and so very detailed. The biggest drawback is with his team's low-fat recommendations which are in need of updating; as is not noting for readers that pasteurized milk is a very processed food and not a healthful choice. Fermented milk would be an improvement - whole milk yogurt, kefir. Otherwise, skipping over the USDA nonsense sell-out, a great addition to the personal library. Did you know to let your cabbage, onions and garlic stand after cutting?? If not, I think you'd consider getting this book!

The best food and health book on the market. Worth it's weight in gold. Easy reading, very informative, listing all the minerals and vitamins in a food product, in the book. The nutritional value and their daily % of our body's need, of that food source,is listed.A source of many, many vegetables, fruits, nuts meats and fish.Many detailed recepies including their nutritional and carbohydrate value.It lists all the major health wise foods and their benefits to our bodies. Also it lists foof products for prevention,aiding and combatting many current diseases.

A really good book to share and send to relatives and friends, who are concerned about their health, especially,as Christmas is appproaching.It is a health promotion,("Bible")and disease prevention book.Sincerely, Keith McAfee.

This is the best book on cooking and healthy eating I've seen. My partner and I love it so much that we've talked all our friends, family and coworkers into buying it too. They all have been impressed.

The beauty of the book is that it is, for the most part, very trustworthy. This is not just because of the research that everything is backed up by but because our success rate with the recipes is so high. George does not lead you astray.

He introduces a few solid cooking methods that are used throughout the book. We've taken it to be "the authority" on cooking in our house--we do 95% of our cooking straight out of this book and feel healthier because of it. Best of all, the food is not gross. The majority of the meals are extremely tasty.

Not to keep on, but one more great feature is that the book is organized by ingredients (all of the world's healthiest foods). This allows you to explore your curiosity by looking up your favourite ingredients (e.g. asparagus, salmon).

This book is a very small investment that will bring health and enjoyment to you and your kitchen for years to come!

This is an excellent reference. The recipes are also very good- well laid out, simple to make. And the guidelines are all backed by credible research. This is a book to keep on the kitchen counter at all times!

I have found the book by George Mateljan to be so very helpful in arranging my healthiest way of eating habits. My bodily health has deteriorated so I try to eat healthy to keep well day by day.The book is most informative for my needs.It is a large book that is packed with food items of every description. The price is right for such a large book and very well organized. Thank you George.

This is one of the best books I have come across in years. Highly recommended to everyone interested in cooking and eating healthy. It truly is, as the title calls it, THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE FOR THE HEALTHIEST WAY OF EATING. It is jam packed with useful information about not only how to prepare stuff so you maintain the most nutrition out of your foods, but it also gives you awesome, quick, easy to make recepies. I bought this book for a number of my relatives also because I think everyone should have this book in their kitchen!
An amazing value for the money. Don't even think twice about buying this book, it's well worth every dollar and then some!!!

This book is far more then just a cookbook, it's an encyclopedia of everything you should know about food and health. The recipes are so tasty and easy, it will change the way you think about food preparation altogether. A must have.
