The marketing game has changed ...

But many high-level executives behind big brands and major corporations still haven't noticed. They're blinded by a desire to showcase the greatness behind their companies.

That's okay, though, because this ego-based marketing approach means more opportunity for you.

The reality is the Internet has transformed the buying process. Your prospects actively hunt online for solutions to their problems. So they're more educated about your product or service than ever before.

Today, your role as a marketer is similar to a publisher. You must produce and deliver valuable content when and where your prospects need it.

What works is focusing on your prospects' problems. What fails is force-feeding facts about what you sell.

All it takes is a simple change in your perspective on prospects to position yourself as an industry authority, deliver higher returns on your marketing investments, and reach larger audiences with less effort.

If you want your marketing to deliver different results, you must be willing to do something different.

Are you ready?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ideas with Easy Implementation April 30 2012
By Benjamin Koeller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Tom's tips are easy to understand and implement because they enhance activities you're already doing. He puts unique twists on common-sense approaches. This book is a great read for entrepreneurs eager to market their businesses with educational strategies. But a word of warning: Tom's strategies aren't the traditional tactics your competitors are used to seeing. So don't be surprised if some people criticize (and then copy) your marketing efforts. A very powerful marketing book sits in your hands -- use it to your advantage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book on copywriting, but content is unnecessarily repeated three times. Sept. 20 2013
By Destination Infinity - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The first 70% of this book is valuable content - but the remaining 30% is filler-content. I appreciate the short summary at the end (that highlights the important points discussed in the book) but the imaginary interview with the twins could have been avoided - It's too long and the conversation drags.

This book is a good resource for entry-level copywriters (and even bloggers, marketing personnel and anyone else trying to grab the attention of their prospects by writing a copy) because it highlights certain vital points required to retain customer attention.

You can keep writing copy, but if you are not aware of certain basic principles that make the customers read it, enjoy it, believe it and open their wallet to take the credit card out, the copy is ineffective. The principles outlined in this book will help you write better copy that appeals to customers and benefits employers.

The author does a great job while discussing copywriting principles, but is not so good while discussing marketing principles. Why include them in the book, then? Did we ask you if we need to set up a blog, collect emails, do social networking updates, etc? There are many other books dedicated to these topics and most of them are CRAP.

I think the author should have stuck to his core expertise - copywriting, because his suggestions on this topic are good. Also, the author should try to follow this -

"In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away" - Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
