5.0 out of 5 stars A winning romance Oct 13 2000
By Harriet Klausner TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Mass Market Paperback
In an elegant apartment in Manhattan's Upper East Side, someone murders psychiatrist Dr. Steve Parker. The physical evidence at the scene points towards the killer possibly being a woman, which is substantiated by a witness claiming to have seen a female leave the night of the murder. NYPD Detectives Travis Quinn and his partner Hank Ballantyne immediately visit the victim's half-sister Celeste Langley in order to surprise her in case she is the culprit.

After completing the interview, Travis believes that Celeste is innocent. His reaction shocks his partner because it is too early in the investigation to be 100 per cent sure that she did not do it. When his superiors learn that Travis is no longer a disinterested investigator, they yank him off the case to insure the evidence remains pure. Travis refuses to quit the case because he has fallen in love with the numero uno suspect and strongly feels she is the next target of the killer.

THE MAN BEHIND THE BADGE is an exciting romantic suspense novel that upon completion will leave readers ecstatic and frustrated. Ecstatic because the audience will have read a fast-paced, exciting story line starring two delightful lead charcaters struggling with love and danger. Frustrated because fans will have to wait until next year for Hank's tale to be told. Readers can count on Dawn Stewardson to provide them with a super romance.
