5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! First read by Sandoval, but NOT my last!, Sep 20 2004

AND THEN THERE WERE THREE is an emotional roller-coaster ride story about clueless single dad, Sam Lowery, his adorable daughter, and uncoventional nanny, Erin O'Grady. An original storyline twist brings these three together, and I'd love to read about Sam's siblings, too! Here's hoping Ms. Sandoval has their stories up her sleeve.

I can't say enough good about this new, extremely talented writer for Silhouette romance. If you've never read a category series romance, I highly recommend Ms. Sandoval as a starting point!

2.0 out of 5 stars This hero had a lot going on, Sep 27 2006
By SusieQ - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: And Then There Were Three (Mass Market Paperback)
Ordinarily, I like a romance novel that has lots of detail. But in this case the story became top-heavy. The hero was: A) trying to find his lost (adopted) siblings; B) coping with his wife's death; C) was realizing he never really loved his dead wife; D) attending to his huge business; E) had a two-year-old baby to mind, and then, to top it off, he was F) falling in love with the much-younger nanny. WHEW! That's a hefty carload of angst to put on a guy, even a fictional guy.

To her credit, the author manages to keep all these story threads together and moving forward. However, there were several very unrealistic touches throughout the course of the book. For instance, the 18-year-old nanny is wise beyond her years --she keeps encouraging (nagging, really), the busy and conflicted hero to contact his lost siblings. Please, the (very) young nanny would would not have known how to deal with the hero's family problems, and given all the problems this man had, I even have to wonder if a woman closer to the hero's age could have! Then, the little 2-year-old baby daughter starts talking like a 7-year-old child. To hear the little baby talking to her father about her dead mother, like a child twice her age, threw me for a loop.

AND THEN THERE WERE THREE was six stories thrown into one novel that might have been better stories separately told.
