From the Back Cover
The hilarious, sparkling and endearing diaries of a thirtysomething Christian, Theodora Llewellyn. Imagine that Bridget Jones was a Christian. Imagine that Adrian Plass was female. Imagine that Fever Pitch was written from the girlfriend's perspective. If you can, you are coming close to understanding Theodora Llewellyn.
She lives in a small village outside of Sidcup and has attended St Norbert's, the village church, for as long as she can remember. She has been going out with Kevin, a plumber and a football fanatic, for almost ten years. Her diary records her search for her "ministry" and her attempts to get along with her family, work colleagues and St Norbert's rather eccentric congregation. Her main ambition is to avoid the ultra-religious Charity Hubble with her brood of children and flowery frocks.
Theodora feels the pressure to settle down as all around her, women are having babies, and even her career-minded sister becomes pregnant. Evangelism, pastoral work and becoming the next Pope prove to be unsuitable "ministries" as Theodora struggles to find her place in God's plan.
