3.0 out of 5 stars Issues with proofreading. May 21 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought the series of 5 books, simply because there was no warning that the books are for teenagers and I'm 78, and I've been reading Grisham from before he was writing even. These books were very difficult to comprehend, mostly because the first one didn't have an ending. I kept on reading them all-;), and discovered there was so much repetitiveness in each book from one to another, I don't know how a young teenager would have my patience to read them all. I am a retired entrepreneur from the print industry, from machine sales to press operator to proofreader to 2 book author myself, I admire and enjoyed John Grisham so much over the years I thought he should be aware of his proofreader? Publisher?

5.0 out of 5 stars A VERY GOOD SUSPENSE STORY April 3 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
THEODORE BOONE: THE ACCUSED is the third book in this series. The others are Theodore Boone: The Abduction and Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer.

Thirteen year old Theodore is the brilliant son of two lawyers and todays Nancy Drew. Although it's a juvenile suspense mystery, even us grown ups enjoy this talented young boy. Pete Duffy is charged with murdering his wife. The first round in court ended in a mistrial. Now he's back in court again; same charges, sames lawyers, but a new witness. The town has already convicted Duffy but young Boone isn't so sure.

Theodore's class was allowed to watch the first trial, but the school principal won't permit the class to watch the second one. However, the principal did permit one student to attend the hearing and Boone gets the nod.

This is a good story with likable characters and fast paced. I read it in a couple of hours. Highly recommended if you enjoy a good suspense mystery.

I think this series should be targeted to teens, the story was fun but the language and writing style was really for a younger audience.

Good story but the various accused people didn't get the same treatment from the police. Don't think that would happen in real life. Also, Grisham still left Duffy not resolved. He always leaves room for a sequel. I'm waiting to find out how that ends. Overall a good read for both kids and adults.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kid Lawyer April 1 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A good read for any young person, but I'm 67 and can still appreciate the well fabricated story. Grisham is better at adult fiction, but he'll keep the young people reading with this clean narrative.
