Product Description

With this "final" edition of Theology for Teachers, Ian Knox leaves a rich legacy to the people he loved most and served best - religious educators. Written with an engaging style, Ian's text makes accessible the best of Catholic theology with a view to teaching it and nurturing the faith life of the teacher as well. -- Professor Thomas Groome, Boston College

About the Author

Ian Knox (d.1999) was a priest of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost (Spiritans) and held a Ph.D in religious education from the University of Notre Dame. He was a Special Lecturer in Theology and Religious Education at the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto, and served as a consultant to the Catholic Office of Religious Education of the Archdiocese of Toronto. Fr. Knox spent the last year of his life revising this book, which received its imprimatur from Cardinal Ambrozic of Toronto a week before Fr. Knox died.

I have had this book for a while and always refer to its wealth of information when seeking answers regarding Catholic belief. Knox is an amazing theologian, however, his explanations are definitely in layperson's language. A must have for any teacher of faith!

A solid, comprehensive overview of Church teaching, written using easy to understand, down-to-earth language. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to learn more about the faith, not just teachers.

Good reference for teachers to direct their lessons in line with Christian teachings. Very helpful guide in lesson planning for students in a non-sectarian school set-up.
