The symphonic orchestration on this show is a real pleasure, honey on Kansas music. The crowd... The Kansas City crowd! What a show.

Un concert pour connaisseurs qui désirent prendre du bon temps devant leurs téléviseurs.

First of all I'm longtime Kansas follower and I own almost everything they've composed.This is a group of very musically smart,skilled and inventive guys.So naturally in this day and age I was waiting for visual confirmation of that.First there was "Device,voice,drum" on DVD and I was little bit disapointed.The video and audio was'nt that good and the band was'nt what it used to be with Kerry Livgren(by the way I happen to think that the period without him is the weakest in the band's history).The coolest thing about this relase was the animation-five stars,concert - 3...After few years they announced this - concert with symphony orchestra and old members as guests - maybe this is finally it!?Sounded very interesting - also because I own few rock concerts with orchestra and they are amazing(Scorpions,Dream Theater,Yes,David Gilmour,M.Oldfield,Styx,Deep Purple...).So I bought it - on blu-ray - just to be shure that I'm getting the best possible quality of sound and vision.Now comes my take:
It was worth waiting...One of the best concerts I own!Finally the band you love relased a product you love as well (not very often occurrence!).Very thoroughly planned,designed and perfectly executed.Idea of including symphonic orchestra to this kind of music is to me long overdue.Finally they did it and came out beautifully.It gave the music way more expression,soundstage and complemented it perfectly.Sound and picture are of very high quality and musically the band is in very good shape.Inviting mighty(but a bit older)Kerry Livgren and always smiling Steve Morse only added a flair,dynamic energy and excellent skill to already highly enjoyable show.The set was also changed a bit - which is very good if you have a few concerts of the same band.The stage,lights,sound,orchestra - grand production!
All in all as you probably suspected by now - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Tend to disagree with the first.... actually thought the orchestra gave this concert a beautiful "touch" and gave their amazing music even more beauty ! Totally loved it !
