Product Description

2012 release from the Jethro Tull frontman, the sequel to the hit 1972 Tull album released to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the original LP's release. The lyrics on Thick As A Brick were credited at the time to the fictitious child character, Gerald Bostock, whose parents supposedly lied about his age. So, 40 years on, what would Gerald Bostock - aged 50 in 2012 - be doing today? What might have befallen him? The anniversary "part two" album will examine the possible different paths that the precocious young schoolboy, Gerald Bostock, might have taken later in life through alter-ego characters with song-section identities illustrating the hugely varied potential twists and turns of fate and opportunity. Not just for Gerald but to echo how our own lives develop, change direction and ultimately conclude through chance encounters and interventions, however tiny and insignificant they might seem at the time.

A true gem of an album that is a fusion of Aqualung, Thick as a Brick and Minstrel in the Gallery. Ian Anderson delivers a series of soft and heavy songs in the true spirit of the best Tull musical styles. For a Tull fan, this is equivalent to The Beatles releasing a sequel to Sgt Peppers. I loved the deluxe package that has the DVD which includes many neat features.

Ian Anderson still has the magic of composing extraordinary music and meaningful lyrics, I have listened the cd a couple of times, and everytime i listen to it the more i love it, even though i'd have loved to see some of his JT musicians joyning him in this venture, All in all thanks to I.A. for giving us more of his music.

After listening to TAAB as a whole unit ( a rock opera if you will ) with all the songs melded into one switching back to the regular song format where there is a break like normal is difficult. I expected to hear the entire event played out in a single song however that was not the case at all. In fact the second Thick as a brick ( TAAB ) all the songs were separated as all the regular songs are in any regular disc is. This has the effect of making the whole story immediately easier to follow for the average person. This way each individual act, or storyline is played out as a separate unit and you can follow along much like the Rock opera Tommy was done. Spigomars

La suite de Thick As A Brick, quelques quarante années plus tard, c'est déjà inouï. Et avec cette qualité sonore, ça devient purement un délice!
