3.0 out of 5 stars Carroll Smith Rehashed, Aug 18 2010
By Mike - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Think Fast (Paperback)
While I have learned a few things from this book, it seems like most of it is already covered in Carroll Smith's books. Not much new material in it, especially considering it is about 30-40 years more modern than Smith's books. I think Texas A&M are probably the best Formula SAE team of all time, and Mr. Roberts probably played a significant role in this. Despite this, I find there are way to many generalizations that while may be appropriate for road racing type cars, are not appropriate for FSAE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for aspiring race track engineers, Nov 25 2010
By Matthew Bell - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Think Fast (Paperback)
This is an excellent book that covers the "why-to" versus the "how-to". Roberts assumes you have read the Carroll Smith "To Win" series of books, and it is necessary that you do so to get the most from this book. Roberts is very effective at provoking thought of how to apply professional level racing practices to an amateur level. The peer-to-peer style of writing makes for an easy read, and bridges the gap between thinking like a driver and thinking like an engineer.
