Cute and inspiring little book,

This book is wonderful in so many ways. It's a cute and simple story about growing up and finding love, but is also a gallery showcasing the amazingly intricate and unique paper-cuts done by Rob Ryan. I recommend this to those who just would like a cute coffee table book but also to anyone interested in paper-cutting, as these images are much more beautiful and inspiring than those in books specifically about this art form. You're sure to be impressed!

Not everyone is happy and in love every day of their lives. Couples break up, divorces happen, death occurs. Whatever the reason, despite friends and family there are people who are painfully lonely, watching couples around them with an aching jealousy like that of a starving person watching others eat. Holidays can amplify that feeling of being alone as the world around you seems focused on reminding you that you have no one to share your life with. This Is for You is a beautiful, poignant, interestingly and artistically presented story that gives hope that there is a heart out there that beats with yours. You are not alone. I gave this to my art-director fiance for Valentine's last year. It is such a beautiful book, however not very practical to read all the way through. Although it is a book of poems, it is definitely more of a picture book (every page resembles the cover; or is more intricate!) I recommend having this book if you collect art books or are a designer of some stripe for the eye-candy or inspiration. If you are more of a poem lover, best to look elsewhere!
