Product Description

Not even captivity can sway Southern widow Josette Beaumont from spying for the Confederacy. Under the nose of the Union army, she willingly risks her life to pass information to her sources. Until a stranger appears in her bedroom one day with a cryptic message: stop spying or you'll die. She has no reason to believe his warnings about the future, but his company is the only solace in her long days of imprisonment and his friendship quickly comes to mean so much more. If only she could make the sacrifice he asks of her...

To hell with history, real estate mogul Jamie D'Alessandro has no intention of saving the historic mansion he's purchased, even if it is the home of a famous Confederate spy. But when he steps into an upstairs bedroom of the old house, time suddenly shifts, bringing him face to face with a very beautiful and irate Southern lady. Against his will he's drawn into her cause--to save the Confederacy. But Jamie has a cause of his own. According to his research the lady spy has only days to live. Should he change history to save the woman he loves--or sacrifice life in his own century to be with her for This Moment in Time?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could give it six stars! July 31 2013
By Laura Hartland - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I love time-travel romances, so I was overjoyed to see this one available for my kindle. And from the very first page I was hooked both by the heroine, Josette - also known as the Rose of Virginia - and the hero, Jamie, a modern-day knight looking for a cause. What could be better?

Josette Beaumont is a woman in an impossible situation, caught in the midst of the Civil War, her husband dead and her beloved home overtaken by Union Soldiers - including one General Stillwater, an absolutely loathsome character whom I loved to hate. Josette has been passing information to aid the Southern cause through one of the few people she's permitted to see during her imprisonment, her pastor, Reverend Huckabee. But the vile Stillwater is suspicious and not above using any available means to intimidate her.

Enter Jamie D'Alessandro, a man of our time who seems like he's been given every advantage, not the least wealth and devastating good looks. But Jamie has already lost so much, including his parents and his direction in life, and he's searching, though at the beginning of the book even he doesn't know exactly for what he's searching. He takes on the job of restoring the ruined mansion that was once Josette's home and stumbles into a portal through time, where he finds a cause that claims his whole heart.

I don't want to ruin any surprises and give away the ending here, but it's a thrilling ride after that through danger, love, achingly sweet sex and Josette's misguided desire to sacrifice herself for Jamie's sake. In the end, Jamie proves he's well able to fight for the woman he loves, and Josette is faced with the choice of two lifetimes.

Though this book is, in fact, a novella, it didn't feel like it while I was reading, and it certainly lacks nothing in suspense or character development. I was so satisfied at the end! I only wish I could give it six stars!
5.0 out of 5 stars Southern paranormal romance Aug. 29 2013
By Read & Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Nicole McCaffrey's time travel short story is a sweet Southern tale about a modern man and a woman from the American civil war. He sets out to flip an old historic house but gets more than he anticipated when he's transported back in time. A creepy General, a clingy ex-girlfriend and a cat make an appearance to round out the tale in this ghostly romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the two characters, Jamie and Josette, who instantly connect. It's really cute the way he teaches her about modern-day gadgets and she quickly learns the benefits of pepper spray and cell phones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great time travel! July 23 2013

As someone who is not usually a fan of historical writing, I still find myself intrigued and drawn to time travels again and again. I think its the mixture of "could it really happen?" mixed with the romance that truly does have to transcend time. I was not disappointed with "This Moment In Time". As other time travels have done, it captured my attention and made me a believer that something so unusual as time travel might really be true. The author drew me in with her story and kept me turning pages with her characters. The plot was good, the love story and love scenes were hot and overall it was a great short story. I can't understand why anyone would think this story needed to be more than it is...I certainly was more than satisfied with the story from start to finish. In this day and age, its far easier to pick up a short story like this one that has a great plot and read it in one sitting. So many stories out there are simply scenes that are called short stories. This one is definitely a fully developed romance compacted into a short story. Great read. I recommend it highly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice read...BUT April 30 2013

This could have been a terrific book. If the author hadn't been in such a hurry to write it and get it up for sale. Josette and Jamie were a great couple but everything happened so fast and then it was over. One hundred more pages and it would have been wonderful because the storyline was good. There was no real 'meat' to the book.
Would I recommend it? Yeah, I would. For those who like straight to the point time travel books.
