I had completly forgotten about this album until I saw it on amazon. I haven't been very impressed with Cradle since Midian which was an ok album but nothing fantastic.

Nymphetamin did boost my hopes in the band quite a bit, but I was not expecting Thornography to be this good.

The line up has changed yet again, James leaving for some reason or other...Martin Powell leaving a while back. And Sarah starting her own band (Angtoria btw,...check them out there quite good). I'm not sure what was more weird, not having much keyboards on most tracks or not hearign Sarah doing back vocals.

The new guitarist, Charles, is a very accomplished player and you can hear it on this cd. I've heard a few comments that the music sounds closer to Power metal now...I can see why ppl would think that...but it still fits and works very well.

I don't think there is one bad track on this album. Although if I had to pick the worst track I;d have to go with Libertina Grimm, so listen to that one...and if you like it definatly get this album, it's worth it.

I was a fan of Cradle for a long time, and I got a bit bored of them. I just needed to here something newer from them, and better. Thonography is excatly what I was waiting to here. I my opinion, this is defenitly their best, and most awsome album yet. I also noticed that the only solo that I ever remember by Cradle was of the track 6(sorry, cant remember the name) from their Midian CD. They solo like Crazy on this CD, and that jsu t gives those songs the Icing on the Cake, that they needed. I have to state that this album sounds a bit like Iron Maiden. I would say the best songs are Tonight In Flames(My Favotite Track on the CD/Sweet Solo), The Feutes Of A New Day Kicking. I Am The Thorn, The Byronic Man, and Rise Of The Pentagram. This CD just refreshed Cradle Of Filth for me, and I am so glad I finially decided to buy it. You Guys should buy too, escpecially you Cradle Fans out there. Peace out, till next time

Don't get me wrong, the other cradle albums are all good in my eyes, but this one by far raises the bar. It is their best album yet, with the vocals and music all retaining their roots, just they are much better this time around. It also helps the record that Ville Valo of H.I.M. sings in track number 5. Pick this one up if you do not already have it.

Did COF change their style to sell more records or is it an artistic expression? This album reminds me of "No Time To Cry" which they did as a Sisters of Mercy cover a few albums back. Not that it's a bad thing. I picked this album to take a chance on something...i liked Cruelty and the Beast somewhat...and COF did great cover tunes...so why not?

Well, to be honest...i was not expecting this album to be as damn good as it is. Let's see...it sounds like Iron Maiden around 1982-84, with a dash of Satyricon and Tiamat. Only better. ( I do like Tiamat though...).and modern. Iron Maiden should have done this record.

The song structure is more apparent...the screams occur in all the right places... the solos are good...and overall, i did not get bored at all listening to this and nor did i skip tracks. Cohesive, thought provoking and very enjoyable. There really does not seem to be any filler on this CD. (On the contrary to the previous review, i thought Libertina Grimm was one of the best tracks!) I have heard all their records and this is by far their best...showing their artistic and creative development. I think this will be regarded as one of their best, if not thee best to date. Well done COF.
