5.0 out of 5 stars The Best One Yet, April 27 2010
By Busy Mom - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Thread So Thin (Paperback)
This is one of my favorite cozy reads of the year. Every time I pick up Marie's books, I know that I am in for a relaxing afternoon (which I desperately need sometimes!) and going into her Cobbled Court world ... nothing like coming home after working so hard all day and finding a cup of hot tea waiting for you. It's just the perfect book for crazy days.

This is book three in the Cobbled Court series and this one focuses on Evelyn and Liza, who is also dating Garrett, Evelyn's son. Liza is in her senior year of college and is on the fast track to be a rising star in the art world. Her professor has taken a shine to her and made an offer that she can't refuse. Then there's Garrett with a surprise of his own. Liza had to make a choice between her future career and Garrett. In the meantime, Evelyn is dealing with taking care of her mother after finding out she had a serious fall back at home. Not only that, Evelyn is also finding more time with Charlie and his romantic interest has deepened. When Liza and Garrett both announced their engagement, Evelyn had her doubts as to whether or not Liza is ready for marriage.

Liza does too especially after the only happy marriage she has seen is her Aunt Abigail's marriage and she had waited a long time for her happy story. Torn between her desires for a career and to be with Garrett, Liza had to do some serious thinking and fast.

If this is your first look at the Cobbled Court series, please do not hesitate to pick it up. Marie always give a bit of background history in her books so you won't feel like you're totally missing out on something that was in the previous books, though her other two books are just as wonderful. I guarantee that you will want to read them too after reading this one.

If this is your third look of the series, you will understand what I mean when I say reading Marie's books is like coming home after a hectic day and finding the coziness waiting for you. Every single time I read Marie's books, I find myself relaxing with anticipation of a story well-told. As the book nears its end, I find myself unable to pull away because I love the stories so much. She is my favorite author and this book is just exceptional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrap Up In A Quilt To Read This One, April 27 2010
By Cathy ML - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Thread So Thin (Paperback)
I just finished A Single Thread in two days. I loved it. I love all the characters, the friendship, the problems, the dialogues, the issues between characters, the cross - generational thoughts and wisdom....I like how Marie is unfolding the lives of these people in several books, they start to feel like family. It's an enjoyable read, it'll take your mind off life for awhile and put you into a snowy New Bern and a quilt shop. There's just something about quilting that is just so comfortable...

5.0 out of 5 stars Never Enough Marie, May 18 2010
By Judy Matthews "ikanu" - Published on Amazon.com
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Thread So Thin (Paperback)
When reading a book by Marie Bostwick it's easy to get caught up, staring off into space. So much of the living that takes place in her books can create self reflection and realization, that you just have to remind yourself to keep reading. And yet at the same time, you can't put the book down, because you just have to see where all of the stories within the book are going. Marie has a special ability to make every character in a story, no matter how small a part, full of life and color. Since A THREAD SO THIN is the 3rd book in a series, we've had the special privelege to watch these characters grow. There's never an unrealistic "good" guy or "bad" guy. Every individual rounds out, with positive traits, frustrating faults, and the opportunity for growth. The only problem is, there's never enough. That last page marks the long wait for another book. Keep 'em coming, Marie...please?
