From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 4–This addition to the series contains "Puss-in-Boots," "Town Mouse and Country Mouse," and "Dick Whittington and His Cat." The retellings are straightforward and simple. The full- and half-page illustrations are rendered in bright acrylics; occasional inset images break up the texts. The bold colors and angular lines give the artwork a primitive look. The most interesting thing about the book is that it gathers together folktales that deal with a unifying theme: cats and mice. For more outstanding versions of these stories, refer to classics by Paul Galdone, Fred Marcellino, Marcia Brown, and Jan Brett.
