5.0 out of 5 stars Well written book on Stalag Luft I, May 5 2002

This review is from: Thrice Caught: An American Army POW's 900 Days Under Axis Guns (Paperback)
I bought 3 copies of this book one for my son and one for my daughter so that they could see what life was like for their grandfather and I kept a copy. The book was riveting and especially the pages on Hauptmann von Beck who showed kindness to the prisoners by smuggling food in his trousers into the South Compound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book written by a Great-Grandfather, Aug 26 2011
By Bryan Endres - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Thrice Caught: An American Army POW's 900 Days Under Axis Guns (Paperback)
My Great-Grandfather wrote this book a long time ago. He is still alive and doing well at over 90 years old. This is a great book. You get a firsthand view at everything, and I think about it everyday now that I've read it. For me personally, i can see where my personality came from, as this book is so personal, you'd almost feel like your thinking to yourself. Awesome, awesome story.
