5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Transporting Bikes in CRV May 26 2009
By Penny Pincher - Published on Amazon.com

We have a Honda CRV and needed a way to transport bikes. Since the spare tire is mounted on the back of the vehicle it is harder to find a bike rack for it. We don't have a hitch, so it would be very costly to get one installed and then pay for a rack. We bought two sets of the fork mounts and installed them on a 2X6 piece of scrap wood (51 cents at Home Depot) which fits perfectly inside the back of the CRV. Problem solved for not much fuss or money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great June 21 2008

Ordered three to mount on two wood planks 4-feet long (2x12) and put in back of truck. Transporting three bikes is easy now. Planks offer a very stable mount for the bicycles. Placed two fork mounts on one plank and the third one in the center of the second plank. two bikes face forward and the other back.

5.0 out of 5 stars affordable alternative to expensive bike rack June 14 2008

Make your own rack or just bolt this mount where you want your bike and clamp it down.

I used a piece of plywood, staggered two of these, and put in the back of a minivan. Both bikes are inside and stable.

This mount is superior to both Diamond brand models, and probably better than those from Hollywood and Pyramid. I like the heavy base and the position of the fork receiver centered over the base.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great! Very Secure Feb. 15 2012
By Michael Reichenberger - Published on Amazon.com

I lost a brand new bike last year due to lack of a secure mounting system. I bought this mount and currently have it in the back of my pickup. It does take a little bit longer before I hit the trail, but there is no way the bike is coming out. I also feel safer leaving the bike out if I have to run into the store quickly because I can lock the front tire in my pickup. This will at least keep the honest man honest.

Overall a great value!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent heavy duty bike attachment, can serve as a anchor point in truck bed. July 5 2011

I bought this and the equivalent Yakima mount for my truck. Other than having to fiddle with the mounting for my F150 to be without drilling into the rail system this was super easy to install. Very robustly built, much heavier than the Yakima. The Thule can be used as an additional anchor point for bungee cords in the bed though, which is a small plus for the Thule. Do not buy the ones with the built in lock, it is cheaper to tie down and lock your bike in the bed with a cable lock.
