From School Library Journal
Grade 7 Up Seniors Tina and Dennis are opposites in every way. Working class, car-crazy Tina wants to be an auto mechanic, while Dennis, a brainy social activist who is the son of physicians, is headed for the university. The unlikely romance procedes with unlikely dialogue. Sachs' contentions that opposites attract, girls can be anything and people can be gifted in different ways are laid on with a trowel. Plot development is obvious and forced. Tina comes across as a dummy, Dennis as a bore. The librarian is a prune personality stereotype. A hi/lo that is thin, easy and condescending. Libby K.
