Very helpful maps but not great suggestions

The color maps were incredibly helpful when jumping around on different Metro lines, but the cafe and eatery suggestions were very lacking. I understand that Paris is a very busy city with a plethora of options for cultural, edible, and entertaining adventures... but the information provided on many of the sites was minimal and not always helpful. The color pictures were great, but it could have used more tips for missing lines and saving money.
It was one of 3 guide books I bought for Paris and I honestly wasn't happy with any of them. I don't think it's a problem with the TimeOut series (I bought a great TimeOut Berlin about 5 years ago), I think it just speaks to the difficulty of guiding people through such an old, important city. It's definitely better than Rick Steves, though.

I was introduced to this guidebook when I rented an apartment in Paris.
Our host kindly leaves it in the apartment for guests. While I thought
I already had every guide to Paris, including the Michelin green guide,
I found TimeOut easy to read and helpful. It contained information in
a format which was easy to access and gave me new information. I ordered
it from Amazon as soon as I returned to the States. I highly recommend it.
