Product Description

"The best guidebook by a long way is Time Out Venice. It's accurate, up-to-date, detailed and authoritative." The Sunday Telegraph "Selected as the best guidebook to Venice." The Sunday Times "...the writing is honest, easily read and offers a cultural delight for anyone travelling in Venice." The Italian Magazine

About the Author

Founded in 1968, Time Out has grown from humble beginnings into the leading resource for anyone wanting to know what's happening in the world's greatest cities. Alongside our influential weeklies in London, New York, Chicago and Dubai, we publish more than 20 magazines in cities as varied as Beijing and Beirut; a range of travel books, with City Guides now joined by pocket-sized Shortlist series; and an information-packed website. The company remains proudly independent, still owned by Tony Elliott four decades after he launched Time Out London. Written by local experts, and illustrated with original photography, our books also retain their independence. No business has been featured because it has advertised, and all restaurants and bars are visited and reviewed anonymously.

The ONLY guidebook you will need! July 28 2005
By Cecilia R. Cygnar - Published on

I've tried most every travel guidebook there is and the TIME OUT books cover the most extensive array of information. No longer will you need one book for the best sites and one for restaurants, etc. This one will give you pretty much everything you will need to know to have an enjoyable trip in Venice.

There's a lot in it, but... Jan. 30 2009

I trust Time Out for background info (maybe I shouldn't?) but I've found that, particularly with this guide, they seem to like every listing they've put in (and there are a lot) without really differentiating between them. Not much help when you know you don't have time to explore everything...

i was really hoping this would be a great book, but i was severely disappointed. this was the only book i bought for Venice, and i wish i had saved my money. i ended up getting a DK eyewitness book and it was way better. the information didn't seem to be up to date, and we found better suggestions from our hotel.
