Wonderful book that shows children having to say bye-bye is not so bad and that the end of one fun thing can be the beginning of another fun thing! My almost two year old son loves this book. We have stacks of books and he will pick this one every night. He doesn't have much of a vocabulary yet but he points to this book and says bye-bye. He recently has also ended some of the sentences while I'm reading with bye-bye. I also like that the child and the activities in the book (although I think is a girl) are not specific to one sex. Also, the activities they go through are things that we do regularly.I would definitely recommend this book!

Time to Say Bye-Bye is a perfect read aloud for toddlers, and an excellent choice for any young child's personal collection, most especially if you have a child who is having difficulties transitioning throughout the day. In this bright and colorful book, we get to follow a young toddler (gender neutral) as they go from a trip to the park, to Grandma's house, back home, to the bath, and finally to bedtime, as the child says a sleepy night night. I loved the author's gentle way of leading the reader from one activity to the next, pointing out that even though you have to say bye-bye to something really fun, something even more fun is sure to be coming soon.This story has a great flow, minimal text, and a great message. It's very rare that I run across a book that is just so absolutely perfect for toddler story time - it's a tough age. This is one that had most all the toddlers in my group paying close attention the entire time. The only trouble I had was at the very beginning when they all thought story time was over since I was saying bye-bye! They recovered nicely though, and I heard even more bye-byes as they left the room. This is a fun book that is going in my permanent story time collection.
