Product Description

Fans of small, pretty-voiced soprano Sarah Brightman will not be disappointed by this CD. In addition to some pop songs, Brightman sings high-flying excerpts from Orff's Carmina Burana, Puccini's "O mio babbino caro" (performed better by almost any other operatic soprano elsewhere), and "Alleluia" from Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate. One might call this a crossover disc; others might just see it as a recording featuring a pop singer with artsy aspirations. Whatever it is, Brightman's fans love her; others do not. Two duets with tenor Jose Cura remind the listener what opera singing really ought to sound like. --Robert Levine

Miss Brightman sing like a little angel and the song become very nice and heartfelt. She is a tremendous vocalist that put many singers to shame with her sheer tallent and poise. Ok, so it is not high art or culture but it is fun album with great songs. Highly Recommended.

This tends to be the Cd that I like the best of sarah's.But then again I only have three of her CD's.I love all of the songs even the opera one's and I am not really a big fan of opera but I love classical music.

I was at the library yesterday to pick up some tax forms and decided to peruse the cd selection. I came across Sarah Brightman's "Time to Say Goodbye". Being the fan that I am, I checked it out along with a few other cds. I personally enjoyed "Time to Say Goodbye" a lot. I will say that I preferred the solo version of the first track which is found on "Classics". Although I have already heard some of the songs on the cd from Sarah's greatest hits cd (available as an import) and "Classics", I loved what I heard. I was particularly moved by the gorgeous ballad "No One Like You". Compared to her more recent albums ("Harem" and "La Luna"), the music on "Time to Say Goodbye" is more classical than the modern classical/pop sounds I have heard on "Harem" and "La Luna". Nevertheless Sarah sounds absolutely incredible on this cd. Another favorite song of mine is "In Pace" which really showcases Sarah's talents as a singer. I can hear the opera influences in her voice. "There For Me" is another fabulous song. I loved Sarah's delicate vocals. Other than the title track, I really enjoyed all of the songs on "Time to Say Goodbye". People expecting another "Eden" or "La Luna" might be disappointed in this album given that Sarah is singing with the London Symphony Orchestra therefore has a more classical repetoire. Brightman fans who are a bit more open-minded will certainly enjoy this cd (I hope). I know I did.

I know virtually nothing about Sarah Brightman and have only heard one track on this record. That listening has left me so apopletic, however, that I am moved to submit this rant. Read more
