TIME TUNNELING WITH THE KABALAS,
By ANTHONY ROONEY (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Time Tunnel (Audio CD)
Ever found yourself pining for a cover version of The Time Tunnel theme that you could dance to? No, well me neither... but I've found one. It's the title track of 'Time Tunnel', an album by a group called The Kabalas. I found it purely by accident and it's well... er, different. The cover is taken from the first Time Tunnel comic book, with pictures of the band members replacing Doug and Tony in the Tunnel. Another nod to TTT comes on track 11 - 'Do It On Your Own Time' - with the verse: "Some use a tunnel Irwin Allen says it sells Others use machines Like a vibrant H. G. Welles..." The album is a million miles removed from my usual musical tastes but I loved it anyway. If you've got a sense of humour you could do worse than add it to your music collection (or even your Irwin Allen collection). File under 'Odd'!

Like nothing you've ever heard,
By Sarah Marheine "i canna' change the laws o' p... - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Time Tunnel (Audio CD)
I was first introduced to The Kabalas' music by a friend of mine who is also from Moline, IL, and I loved them from the start. This CD has three of my all-time favorite songs: "Comfort Me with Apples," "Attack of the Giant Ants," and "Tanz Medley." I like to describe them as a quirky Jewish They Might Be Giants with sax and accordion. And oh, is there sax and accordion! All band members are extremely skilled on their instruments and the final product is something that I find myself listening to constantly!
